Today @Marvel released the covers for Avengers Vs X-Men #9 & #10, as well as the synopsis for both books. All I can say is that I can’t wait to see how this plays out, AVX has been great so far and every issue in the crossover has been filled with surprises. AVENGERS VS X-MEN 2ND ACT TEASER “NO MORE AVENGERS”

Today Marvel Comics released a teaser for Act II in their smash hit Avengers Vs X-Men crossover series. Act I will conclude at the end of this month and Act II will start in June. The synopisis for this act is that Cyclops changes the game with 3 simple words “No More Avengers”. What we do know is that this will be the turning point in the battle where the X-Men start winning and take the Avengers as prisoners leading to Hawkeye and a small team breaking them out. What we don’t know is if Scott ends up making a deal with Scarlet Witch (Pretty much the cause of this whole entire dilemma) or not. Things are about to pick up this June and I strongly urge you that if you’re not reading AVX you better start. #WelcomeToTheFREEWORLD

BOOK OF THE WEEK 4/25/12: Avengers Vs X-Men VS #1

If you’re reading Marvel’s Avengers Vs X-Men crossover event then you were sure to pick up AVX VS #1. This is the book in the series that’s billed to be all action and it did not disappoint. In this issue we got to see the 1st round of Magneto vs Iron Man and the 1st round of Namor vs Thing & Luke Cage. The Magneto vs Iron Man scenes were the main focus as we saw both men look to outer space to provide them with leverage in the ensuing battle. We also saw Magneto have an epiphany, and realize that this battle might be bigger then all of them. He also seemed to realize that his daughter Wanda (Scarlet Witch) might be the key to saving everyone. As the series continues we’re expected to see more battles unfold such as Gambit vs Captain America and Rogue vs She Hulk just to name a few. If the rest of the series is as good as the 1st issue then this might very well be the best event Marvel has ever done.

JULY “AVENGERS vs X-MEN” SOLICITS

Along with our First Look at the New Brotherhood Of Evil Mutants yesterday, we also got a bunch of AvX tie in’s which to me kind of spoil the ending of the “Biggest Event Ever”. From the July solicits we see that at some point Mister Sinister will return and reveal his big plan that was 1st shown in the post-Schism Uncanny X-Men #1-3. So from that we can pretty much gather that at some point the Avengers & X-Men will be teaming up once again to take down Sinister. The question that now comes in to play is what will Sinister’s connection to Hope be?? Could he possibly be her biological father?? or is he just trying to get a hold of the Phoenix?? For fans that have read Second Coming & Messiah Complex you know that Sinister has been after Hope since she was born, now we’ll find out why. Another interesting thing from these solicits is the tease of the end of the Red Hulk & Numerous heroes switching sides in the battle. BOOK(S) OF THE WEEK 4/4/12: AVENGERS VS X-MEN #1 and WOLVERINE & THE X-MEN #8

AvX #1- The biggest event in Marvel history starts today with the release of Avengers Vs X-Men #1. As i’ve said numerous times before this is an event 10 years in the making. Not only do you get to see the worlds greatest superhero’s battle over the fate of the so called “Mutant Messiah” Hope Summers, but you also get to see the return of the Phoenix force. In this issue Cyclops starts training Hope to get her prepared to be the new host of the entity. We also learn how The Avengers become aware of the Phoenix’s arrival to Earth and how Wolverine becomes involved in the situation. To top it all off we get to see a fight between Cyclops & Captain America, the leaders of their respective teams.

Wolverine & The X-Men #8- In this issue we got to see a totally different Wolverine then we’ve ever seen before. After his adamantium legs were broken in an intergalactic casino last issue, Wolverine spent most of this issue in a wheel chair while Beast pays a visit to SWORD to find a device to fix Logan. To his dismay instead of finding the device he finds Sabertooth and a battle between the two ensues. While this is going on Angel and Quentin Quire lead the students of the school into space to get the device themselves while taking out the whole entire Casino thanks to Genesis (Apocalypse’s Clone) who uses his powers for the first time and gains the respect of his classmates. We also see an unlikely friendship develop between Genesis & Angel who have an extensive history with one another that neither can remember. They also make a vow to find the answers of who they really are together which should open up a whole other can of worms.

5 POSSIBLE ENDINGS TO AVENGERS VS X-MEN

*I have no inside knowledge as to whats going to happen, this is solely my opinion of possible outcomes*

#5 The Return Of Jean Grey- Now I fully expect that we’ll see Jean or at least hear about her at some point in this series. What I don’t know is what capacity we’ll actually see her in. Whether it be in dream sequence, or a vision of her. What would happen though if this whole series was set up to bring Jean back from the dead to save the world? Or what if Hope is really Jean reincarnated? Fans were left with many questions about her fate after “Phoenix-End Song” and Hope does bare a striking resemblance to her, as did Hope’s mother who just so happened to be a fire fighter. There are also many unanswered questions about Hope such as who her biological father actually is and why she was the first mutant born after M-day. Marvel has stated numerous times though that Jean is in fact dead which would make this ending highly unlikely.

#4 Battle Of The Phoenix- Now we’ve been told that the Phoenix is coming for Hope, but for fans that have read “Second Coming” & “Avengers X-Sanction” we know that Hope already has the Phoenix inside her. Is it possible that there are 2 Phoenix forces?? Perhaps the Phoenix already bonded with Hope during her time in the Future and perhaps the other Phoenix thats coming is the Phoenix that killed Jean Grey. Again probably an unlikely scenario but you never know.

#3 Marvel’s Version Of “Flashpoint”- Hope dies and is stopped from becoming the Phoenix. In that case Cable’s vision of the future comes true and the entire world is burned to ash killing everyone. Like the Phoenix though the world will rise from the ashes and be reborn. Marvel essentially does what DC did last year with “The New 52” and reboots all of their titles.

#2 Hope Is The Messiah- The logical outcome to predict would be that the X-Men are indeed right and that by Hope becoming the Phoenix she can bring the entire mutant race back from the brink of extinction. This would essentially do what Marvel set out to do with this series and set up a new landscape for the Marvel Universe by Hope reversing the events of M-Day.

#1 Scarlet Witch Becomes The Phoenix- Now to me this ending makes the most sense since in fact it was Scarlet Witch who caused all of this to happen to begin with. We know after the “Children’s Crusade” when Wanda found out what she did on M-Day she vowed to make it right. I also believe theres a reason she was one of the main focuses of issue #0. Right now she has no place with either the X-Men or The Avengers, two groups which she was once apart of. The only way to redeem her actions would to be for her to become the Phoenix instead of Hope and use her reality altering powers to reverse what she did on M-Day.This Scenario would also accomplish what Marvel set out to do and bring the whole Marvel Universe together ushering in a new era and landscape.

10 MATCH UPS TO LOOK FORWARD TO IN AVENGERS VS X-MEN

#10 Storm vs Thor- The God Of Thunder vs The Godess Of Weather. Both of them are evenly matched and share pretty much the same powers besides weather manipulation. This should be a great match up.

#9 Rogue vs She Hulks (Red & Green)- For the first time Rogue is in complete control of her powers, she’s also been perfecting other mutants powers and teaching them how to use the full range of their gifts. We know she’s got a history with Green She-Hulk, so it should be interesting to see her throw down with the both of them over control of the Jean Grey School.

#8 Colossus (Juggernaut) vs Red Hulk vs The Incredible Hulk- We’ve all seen the teasers showing Red Hulk vs Colossus but the most interesting part of this battle will be when The Incredible Hulk gets involved. I expect to see total destruction and alot of Hulk Smashing.

#7 Namor vs Thing & Luke Cage-From the teasers we know this fight will be going down in water which gives Namor a distinct advantage, but I wouldn’t count Thing & Luke Cage out just yet. Things rivalry with the King Of Atlantis goes back to the early days of the Fantastic Four and Luke Cage never backs down from a fight.

#6 Wolverine vs The X-Men- We know Logan will start off on The Avengers side so he’s bound to go toe to toe with some of his friends as well as some his current students. I for one am hoping we get to see another fight between him & Cyclops like they had in “Schism”.

#5 Iceman vs Spiderman- These two have been friends for ages, but recently Iceman unlocked the full potential of his powers and learned he could create copies of himself and literally pull moisture from the air. Spiderman on the other hand as a gadget to counteract every foe so we’ll see what he’s got in store for his old buddy.

#4 Magneto vs Iron Man- The Master Of Magnetism vs The Worlds Greatest Inventor. These two have a mutual dislike for one another as seen in “Magneto Not A Hero”. We know Ironman made a special suit that isn’t made of metal but Magneto’s powers are practically limitless. This should be a great match up

#3 Uncanny X-Force vs Secret Avengers- Both are the black-ops squads for their respective teams. I have no idea if we’ll actually get to see this match up since Rick Remender’s Uncanny X-Force series isn’t tying into to AvX but both of these squads would match up perfectly and there would already be an established history between certain members of each squad such as Pyslocke & her brother Captain Britain.

#2 Cyclops vs Captain America- For most people this is the #1 match up they want to see, the two respective leaders of each team squaring off in a fight to the death. We know we’ll get the 1st round of this in AvX #1 and i’m sure there will be plenty more.

#1 Wolverine vs Captain America- Weapon I vs Weapon X. These two have been friends since WWII and have fought side by side on numerous occasions but I have a feeling we’ll finally get to see these two go at it in AvXat some point.

10 REASONS TO LOOK FORWARD TO AVENGERS VS X-MEN

#10 The Return Of Captain Marvel- it’s been a long time since we’ve seen the original Captain Mar-vell, the kree soldier that came to earth to scout it for an invasion but ended up falling in love with it and became it’s protector. We’ll see Mar-vell return during the Secret Avengers portion of the story.

#9 The New Captain Marvel- The original Captain Marvel (As mentioned above) will assumably die at some point during the Secret Avengers storyline and we will see Carol Danvers the current Ms. Marvel take up his mantle and get her own spin off series.

#8 Who Lives & Who Dies- Marvel has already promised us that we will see some casualties in this battle. Who they’ll be is unknown but if “Second Coming” was any indication expect to say goodbye to some fan-favorites. My money’s on Cyclops

#7 The Battles- How many times have you or your friends debated who would win in fight? well now for the first time fans will actually get to see those battles play out and only 1 team will reign supreme.

#6 Who Wins- Marvel has already promised us that there will be a winner after AvX is all said and done but that the world they inherite & the landscape of the Marvel universe will be changed drastically. I think it will be the X-Men but for more info on that check out our POSSIBLE ENDINGS POST

#5 10 Years In The Making- Marvel has been building this story since “House Of M” and “Civil War” , i have no reason to believe that they would invest all that time only to let the Fans down with a crappy ending. For all we know this could be Marvel’s version of “Flashpoint”.

#4 The Return Of Cable-Cable recently returned in the prelude series to AvX “Avengers X-Sanction” on a mission to stop the Avengers from killing Hope. The catch was that he only had 24 hrs left to live before the nano-virus that he had been infected with since birth killed him. The end result was Hope using her powers along with the Phoenix force to burn the nano-virus out of Cable’s body and completely heal him giving him full use of his powers again which he had been using to hold off the virus. Cable is one of the most powerful telepaths in the world but we’ve never seen him use the full force of his powers until now & we know he’ll be standing side by side with his father and his daughter.

#3 The Return Of Archangel- After the “Dark Angel Saga” we know that Warren Worthington (Angel) had his mind wiped and doesn’t remember who he or anyone else is. We also know he seems to have a new found healing ability as well as returned to his feather winged persona. From the teasers Marvel released , one clearly shows Warren as Archangel facing off against Daredevil. We don’t know how or why Warren turns back into Death but I for one can not wait.

#2 The End Of “Schism”??- I presume that Wolverine will start off on the Avengers side but I believe at some point he’ll end up joining the rest of his school and return to the X-Men. I think Captain America will either learn about X-Force’s existence or Wolverine won’t like the fact the Cap has essentially turned the Jean Grey School into a prison. It could also end up being that someone close to Wolverine dies, If it’s Cyclops that would leave Wolverine to become the new leader.

#1 The Return Of Jean Grey??- When you think of the Phoenix only one person comes to mind and thats Jean. You’ve heard the speculation that this could be the return of one of the Marvel Universes most beloved characters and it very well could be. Hope & Jean have an uncanny resemblance to one another and many believe that the two are somehow linked, hopefully we get those answers in AvX

BOOK OF THE WEEK 3/28/12 “AVX #0”

You were expecting something else?? With all the hype and all the teasers over the last few months, finally the biggest event in comic book history is upon us. Today was the release of “AvX #0” which serves as the prologue to issue #1 which debuts next week. I highly recommend picking up Avengers 24.1 along with this issue since the return of Vision ties into the Scarlet Witch portion of #0 but if it’s not in your budget you don’t have to go out of your way to pick it up.

BOOK(S) OF THE WEEK: BATMAN #7 & AVENGERS X-SANCTION #4

This week we do something we’ve never done before & thats have 2 Books Of The Week. Both these issues were amazing in their own right and both play an important role in their respective series. Check below for a rundown of each issue.

Avengers X-Sanction #4: This issue was Cable’s last stand. Wolverine & Spiderman came to the rescue of the rest of the Avengers team and after being nearly beaten to death by Red Hulk, Cable was relinquished to his father Cyclops’s custody under the condition that the Avengers confiscate Cable’s equipment and ship. It was Hope who really shined in this issue tho. Hope was told she could save Cable’s life by using her powers to burn out the nano-virus that infected him since birth. This was only the 3rd time we’ve seen the Phoenix manifest itself in Hope, but this was the 1st time we’ve seen it in full force. The last scene of this issue was priceless as we saw for the first time a completely young & healthy looking Cable regain use of his powers and show his father the future he saw if the X-Men loose the war to the Avengers essentially setting up #AvX

BATMAN #7

Scott Snyder continues to amaze me. Not only did he unveil the single handedly most shocking scene ever in Batman (As seen above) but his “Night Of The Owls” Crossover is shaping up to be one of the best Batman stories ever told involving every member of the Bat-Family, including Red Hood. This book intertwined with a story that Snyder and NIGHTWING writer Kyle Higgins have been setting up in their respective series and the pay off was huge. If you’re living under a rock or by some chance you’re not reading Batman by now get up off your ass and go to your local comic shop and pick up a copy. This is a must have issue for any fan.

#AvX VS. #1 Preview

Today @Marvel released a 5 page preview for the 1st issue of the highly anticipated “Avengers vs X-Men Versus” Series. This book will mainly focus on the battles going on in the main title rather then the furthering of the story. Issue #1 comes out April 25th

FIRST LOOK AT WOLVERINE & THE X-MEN #9

As well as debuting a few pages to AvX #2 Marvel has released the 1st look at Wolverine & The X-Men #9. In this issue Captain America pays a visit to The Jean Grey School For Higher Learning to recruit Wolverine and see what side the school will fight on.

AVENGERS Vs X-Men #2 PREVIEW

Today we get a two page preview of #AvX #2. The most interesting thing we learn from this is that Wolverine will indeed start off on The Avengers side, how and why he switches sides still remains to be seen in the upcoming issues of the series. We also see why in the Namor & Luke Cage teaser they were fighting in water. What are your thoughts?? What are you most looking forward to see???

AvX #2 GETS TWO NEW VARIANT COVERS

Today @Marvel released two new variant covers for AvX #2. Both of them look awesome but i’m sure they’ll cost you a pretty penny at your local comic book shop.
